UTIs/ CANDIDA
Candidiasis
A *urinary tract infection* happens in the body's urinary system, which includes your Kidneys, Ureter (tube that carries urine from the kidneys to the bladder)
Bladder
Urethra (a short tube that carries urine from the bladder to outside the body)
Bacteria cause most UTIs.
Women are disproportionately affected by UTI compared to men, and risk of UTI increases further during pregnancy. Pregnant women are at increased risk of bacterial ascension to the kidneys due partly to dilation of the renal pelvis and ureters by as early as the eighth week of pregnancy.
These bacteria sometimes can lead to a kidney infection. If they do, UTIs may lead to preterm labor (giving birth too early) and low birth weight.
Symptoms to look out for include:-
- urgent need to pee, or urinating more often.
- Trouble with peeing.
- A burning sensation or cramps in your lower back or lower belly.
- A burning feeling when you pee.
- Urine that looks cloudy or has an odor.
*Why are these common in pregnancy*
Hormones are one reason. In pregnancy, they cause changes in the urinary tract, and that makes women more likely to get infections.
Also, your growing uterus presses on your bladder. That makes it hard for you to let out all the urine in your bladder. Leftover urine is a likely source of infection.
These bacteria are proven through a urine test or under what we call A “urine culture” which may also show what kind of bacteria are in the urine.
Note: avoid sweet things like sugars, take lookwarm water mixed with lemmon every morning before having breakfast, then take too much water, eat lots of greens than protein foods and then may be take at least a day yoghurt coz that neutralises that bacteria and then steam ur private part with hot water not too hot once a week.
